Faux crochet is a type of knitting that mimics the look of various crochet styles. It has an
open an airy texture with a geometric look unlike any other knit fabric. This stitch is easy to
learn, and once you can use it the possibilities are endless and include colorwork and border
treatments that other stitches just cannot to.   In this class we will learn the basic faux
crochet stitch and a few variants on the openwork texture. You'll have the chance to cast on
a quick cowl project, experiment with some interesting bind offs, and learn to troubleshoot
more complex faux crochet patterns. You will leave ready to explore their own creative uses
for this invaluable technique

Supplies: 3-4 colors of dk or worsted weight yarn, scraps are fine, needles in a corresponding
size and 2 sizes larger. For those who want to begin a cowl: 1 skein of super bulky yarn such
as Malabrigo Rasta and corresponding circular needles.  Yarn and needles will also be
available in the Woolbearers Pop-up Store.

Suggested skill level: Familiar with knit, purl, increases and decreases.
